Sealcoating

What is sealcoat?

Sealcoat is a protective liquid layer that is applied over asphalt to aid it´s longevity. It´s like sunscreen or a waterproof jacket for your asphalt!

  • It offers protection, shielding the surface from sunlight, water, oil and chemicals, all of which can erode the integrity and adhesion of the surface over time.

  • It restores appearance, giving the surface a fresh, smoother look, much like a coat of fresh paint can do for your walls!

  • It prevents cracks. By sealing small surface area, sealant prevents bigger cracks from forming.

The sealant itself is made from a mix of something called “bitumen”-a sticky, tar-like substance-water, fine sand and additives that help it stick and dry well.

How often should sealcoating be done?

Sealcoat is typically recommended every 2 to 3 years for most asphalt driveways or parking lots. However, exact timing can vary depending on weather conditions, amount of traffic, and surface condition.
